It was up for auction at "Skeletor Saves" a charity benefit for the Ali Forney Center ( www.facebook.com/profile.php?i… ) the nation's largest and most comprehensive organization dedicated to homeless LGBT youth. Blue can be interpreted as a color of hope, divinity and royalty, it's been used in the past in the marketing of medical and technology companies. White is a color symbolizing rebirth and violet is a spiritual color and a color of royalty. Mix those together in the right quantities and you get the pale violet blue of Skeletor's skin. He's got those healing hands. His face is ,of course, a skull which has been a running theme in my art for years now. It's color is yellow, a color associated with caution (look at street and traffic signs) but this yellow is tainted by the blue of hope making the yellow almost greenish. His robes are a pale red, a color symbolizing blood or life. A color used in marketing to sell food and medical products. While his cloak is a deeply strong spirit chakra violet. The symbol on his chest is reminiscent of the holy symbol of Santa Barbara, a Catholic saint. Could this be Santa Barbara in one of her many disguises?Look her up for further elaboration. I created this piece for a benefit for the Ally Forney center for homeless LGBTQ children. I'm proud to say as my first piece ever put on auction, it brought in $400 for the charity. This piece is full of life and hope for children who were thrown out on the street by bigoted, heartless parents who listen to ancient dogmatic teachings that should have died eons ago. People who follow a faith devoutly but are spiritually dead inside themselves. That's why I put the black cloudy red sky.The black and purple clouds symbolizes a death of spirituality taking over the blood red sky. The blood red sky once again symbolizing heaven/the source of all life and by extension, the christian faith. The gold Ora around him signifies a higher state of being, a holiness. This piece also represents my anger towards the hypocrisy of those who claim to follow Christ yet are less Christ-like than the worst villain from any cartoon or comic book.
